1 day course covering a choice of 3 out of 13 categories of power hand tools max six people per course, the most popular are petrol disc cutter, electric/battery grinders, electric/battery rotary hammers.
It is a mandatory requirement that under PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations) 1998 all users must be competent and all users must be trained to ensure they have the knowledge, understanding and skills required to use tools safely at work

The aim of this course is to train delegates in the skills and knowledge to achieve the standards of competency to enable them to inspect and safely use portable power tools.
The Safe Use of Power Tools course consists of the following topics:
- Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, PUWER 1998, LOLER 1998 and other relevant legislation
- Pre-operational checks
- Risk assessments
- HAVS (Hand and Arm Vibration Syndrome)
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Safe operation of power tools
- Safe use and storage

Delegates will be required to take part in a practical assessment which, after successful completion will entitle you to an approved user certificate proving competence in the Safe Use of Power Tools. Certificate is valid for three years.
