Using a ladder or stepladder in the workplace may seem like a simple task. However, it is vitally important to consider the risks that come with using this equipment. It is important to know how to select the right equipment, conduct inspections, and safely use the ladders too. This course will cover all of these aspects.
Duration: This is a half day course.
Throughout the duration of this course, you will learn about the legislation surrounding using ladders and stepladders, how to identify hazards and manage them, as well as successful planning and organisation, along with maintenance and correct storage.
Once you have learnt all of the information provided, you should be well equipped to use ladders and stepladders at work in a safe and responsible way.
The course will include an array of information that will be extremely beneficial in the workplace, this includes:
- Legislation and regulations affecting work at height
- Product standards and classifications for ladders
- Product standards and classifications for stepladders
- Hazards affecting the use of ladders and stepladders
- Assessing risks • Standards & classifications
- Planning & organising, selecting & using
- Storage, handling & maintenance
The course will finish with both theory and practical tests which will confirm the knowledge you have obtained throughout the duration of the course.
Who Will Benefit From Taking Part In This Course?
This course is primarily geared towards engineers and supervisors who rely on the use of ladders and stepladders whilst at work. They are required to have sufficient knowledge surrounding safe use, inspections, maintenance, and storage.
Only 8 delegates can take part in this course at any given session.
If you successfully complete the course and pass the assessments, you will be awarded a Ladder Association Ladder User’s ID card and Certificate of Training.
